Events at the Hinckley Institute
Upcoming events at the Hinckley Institute of Political Science.Hinckley Fellows: In March the Hinckley Institute of Politics welcomed two Hinckley Fellows: Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer and Mickey Ibarra. Redistricting Conference: On April 3-5 the Hinckley Institute of Politics will host the premier national conference on political redistricting. Over 50 individuals will convene at the University of Utah to address redistricting principles and their potential implementation in various states as well as on the national level. Participants will include elected officials and representatives from the Campaign Legal Center, Brookings Institute, Common Cause, Center for Democracy and Citizenship, US PIRG and League of Women Voters. While the conference is closed to the public, we invite you to listen to the following radio interviews that will take place on Monday, April 3.

Special Book Presentation: Elizabeth Borgwardt’s forthcoming book A New Deal for the World: America’s Vision for Human Rights has been nominated for both a Pulitzer Prize in history and the National Book Award. Borgwardt is a professor of history at the University of Utah. Professor Borgwardt will be speaking at a Hinckley Pizza & Politics Forum entitled “Historical Perspectives on Human Rights: Rethinking the Nuremberg Trials” on Tuesday, April 11 at 12:00 noon in the Hinckley Caucus Room (OSH 255) and will be presenting her book for C-SPAN 2 at Sam Wellers Bookstore Annex (245 South Main Street, Salt Lake City) on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 6:00 pm. Both events are free and open to the public.
