Hinckley Institute of PoliticsJanuary 2006 Update
Hinckley Fellows: The Hinckley Institute of Politics welcomes two Hinckley Fellows this Spring: Alec Russell and Mickey Ibarra.
Alec Russell is the Daily Telegraph’s Washington Bureau Chief. The Daily Telegraph is the largest newspaper in the United Kingdom with over 4.9 million readers each week. Mr. Russell has lived in Washington, D.C. covering U.S. politics since September 2003. Previously he was the Daily Telegraph’s foreign editor in London. He also has had postings in the Balkans and in Africa and has written books about both assignments. Mr. Russell will visit the University of Utah beginning January 21st as a Hinckley Institute of Politics Fellow. In addition to speaking at a Hinckley Forum on January 24th, Mr. Russell will lecture to a variety of classes and meet with the staff and writers of the Daily Utah Chronicle as well as other community and university leaders.

Mickey Ibarra served as the White House Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs under President Bill Clinton and has been named one of the “25 most powerful Hispanics in Washington, D.C.” Mr. Ibarra will visit the University of Utah the week of March 27.
