2004 GOP Governor IRV Projections
by Mark E. Towner
After looking at the New State Delegate list for 2004, and a county by county, legislative by legislative analysis here is my projections and logic for the upcoming IRV Utah GOP Governor Nomination race.
| Eliminated first round: | Gary Benson | 2nd choice go to Karras |
| Eliminated 2nd round: | Parley Hellewell | 2nd choice go to Stephens |
| Eliminated 3rd round: | James Hansen | 2nd choice go to Stephens |
| Eliminated 4th round: | Gary Herbert | 2nd choice Stephens/Lampropolis |
| Eliminated 5th round: | Nolan Karras | 2nd choice go to Stephens |
| Eliminated 6th round: | Walker/Huntsman | 2nd choice goes to each other |
| Primary 7th round: | Stephens/Lampropoulos | |
| Primary 8th round: | Huntsman/Walker |
The convention IRV will be (Huntsman or Walker) with 56% and (Stephens or Lampropolis) with 44%
If Walker can survive to a Primary, she win’s the Primary and cake-walks the General election with 63%
Any other GOP Nominee will have a tough primary, then a really tough and expensive General Election. However whoever ultimately becomes the GOP Nominee will win the General election 53% to 45%, unless Iraq or the economy implodes and this drags down the GOP candidate from Bush on down the ticket.
