Evolving Political Newscape
The Seattle Times began a weblog this week. The latest entry discusses education vouchers, a hot topic for this year’s legislative session in Utah. I think you can expect to see the Times’ blog to focus mainly on political issues. Both the Times and Seattle’s other major paper, the PI, are taking note of Seattle’s growing blogger community - people like Stefan Sharkansky who maintains the Shark Blog - and are very politically active.
This site and utahpolicy.com form the core of a growing number of alternative sources of political commentary in Utah. I think you will see traditional media respond in a variety of ways such as the Seattle Times and PI.
Another more liberal example is Johann’s Coherence Theory of Truth (subtitled “Fair and Balanced Politics and Technology from Utah).
